Nocturnes is a breath taking solo work by Shawn Loescher.
It is nearly impossible to believe that the sounds emanating from
the recording were pure improvisations. The recording is brief, with
only fifteen minutes of music on the disc, however it signals a major
departure from what he has done before. Nevertheless, it seems to
be complete, with a dense structure
that will allow for nothing more than what is allotted.Recorded using a single sounded field microphone, listeners are delivered each
note, keystroke and breathe with precision and clarity. Loescher once again captures
the listener and takes them on a journey through his world with amazing technical
and musical precision. |
